In this way, they have avoided the primate having to undergo another operation.” Firstly, an examination was carried out, where all the anomalies found in the mandrill’s teeth could be verified. This exploration was done with a 3D scanner, an innovative and pioneering technique, with which a virtual library of mouth models of all the species at the Jerez Zoo was started. The collaborations between Francisco Rábago and the Jerez Zoo began more than ten years ago, and they have allowed, among other actions, the recovery of a hermit ibis specimen, which was fitted with a prosthesis on one leg, following the dental implant system. For Dr. Rábago, it is a real satisfaction to collaborate with this type of interventions given the passion he feels for animals.
